| Tom Briese is a fourth generation Boone County farmer. He was elected to represent District 41 in the Legislature in 2016. Tom is chairman of the Legislature's General Affairs Committee and serves on the Revenue Committee. He served on the Boone Central School Board for six years, chairing the negotiation committee. Tom also served on the Farm Service Agency Committee, and is currently active with the Boone County Area Foundation Fund Committee and the Boone County Philanthropy Council. He is a member of the Nebraska Cattlemen, Nebraska Soybean Association, Central Plains Corn Growers Association, Nebraska Farm Bureau and the National Rifle Association. Tom earned his degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1982 and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1985, graduating with distinction. Tom and his wife Joan have been married for 28 years, they have one son Adam who is married to Lauren and a daughter Ashley who is married to Cameron Jones, they have two sons ages 11 and 6. |
