Bio

GRACE and PEACE" is a familiar phrase often heard reverberating throughout cities in the east coast. It has become a trademark of Assemblyman Reginald Atkins, the prolific and visionary leader who, at the age of 28, became the Sr. Pastor and Founder of Zion Family Worship Center Church. He is also a Sr. Manager / Director for Computer Task Group with a focus on Process Improvements, he is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt. Assemblyman Atkins and his lovely wife, Dr. Cynthia Atkins launched two successful businesses in Union County in 1999, (Information Technology 2000 Computer School and Information Technology 2000 Consulting Group). The Computer School graduated over 400 students a year and the Consulting group employed technical professionals to work at fortune 500 and 1000 companies throughout NJ. Their business employed 18 full time and 4 part time employees. The school was approved by the Department of Education, Department of Veteran Administration, Moet, Workfirst and Unemployment Programs) and in 2016, he assisted his wife in the launch of a local Roselle business called Roselle Jeans and Things. In every one of my endeavors - as a pastor, as a businessman, and as a government representative - I have always worked to meet the needs of the people. - Assemblyman Atkins Assemblyman Atkins made history in 2015 at the age of 46 when he was elected the first minister to serve as a Councilman with 70% of the vote in the Borough of Roselle. A local trailblazer, and advocate for "Meeting the Needs of the People" Assemblyman Atkins' plan for Roselle's revitalization strategy has guided improvements in quality of life, economic development, infrastructural growth, policy reform, innovation and strategic partnerships since taking office. As Councilman at-Large, Atkins launched several community initiatives and policy changes aimed at reducing crime by tackling tough issues such as Community policing, and accountability. His efforts to fortify his Borough have been instrumental in eliminating cars being towed from the Roselle business district. Prior to being elected as Councilman At-Large, he served the residents on the Board of Education for 8 years; during this time, he made Roselle history by being the first and only Board president to be awarded the prestigious President's Award at the New Jersey School Board Convention for his diligence, hard work and his innovative leadership. Assemblyman Atkins married his best friend, Dr. Cynthia Atkins, a business woman and Pastor over 20+ years ago. Together, they are the proud and thankful parents of three lovely children; Lemuel (Educated through the Roselle Public School system currently in college with pursuits of becoming a Civil Attorney), Shekinah (Educated through the Roselle Public School system currently in college with pursuits of becoming an Anesthesiologist) and Peniel-Reginald Atkins who has also attended Roselle Public Schools. Assemblyman Atkins is a servant of God and of the residents of Roselle; he humbly continues to serve and "Meet the Needs of the People".
