Bio

Mike Inganamort is the mayor of Chester Township. He previously served on the Township Council, including three years as Council President. While on the Council, Mike co-founded a working group of western Morris County municipalities that has forged new, cost-saving shared service agreements. Mike and his wife Lauren met at Sparta Junior High School, graduated from Sparta High School, and were married at Blessed Kateri Church in Sparta. They are the proud parents of three daughters and parishioners at St. Lawrence Church in Chester. Mike was elected to the Sussex County Republican Committee at the age of 18. He later coordinated Sussex County's municipal campaigns in 2007 and 2008. Mike was a longtime aide to Congressman Scott Garrett in Washington, DC and the Newton District Office, where he helped residents of Sussex and Warren counties navigate federal agencies. Mike was the Garrett campaign's manager for five years. He is currently the Chester Township Republican Municipal Chairman. As a volunteer Merit Badge counselor and Eagle Scout, Mike works with local Scouts on the citizenship merit badges and often talks to area troops about civic duty. Mike earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from American University and a masters degree in American Government from Georgetown University. He is a member of the American Enterprise Institute's Leadership Network and was named to NJBIZ's Forty Under 40 List.
