Bio

Ellen Troxclair is a small business owner, non-profit leader, devoted mom, and proven conservative. As one of the few Republicans, and youngest woman, to ever serve on the Austin City Council, she has stood as an unwavering fighter against leftist policies - and won. A trailblazer for efficient and effective government, Ellen has played a key role in lowering property taxes and improving transparency at both the city and state level. As a councilwoman, Ellen lowered property taxes for all homeowners by implementing Austin's first homestead exemption. She became known as the budget watchdog, consistently cutting wasteful spending and reforming city programs for better results. Following her tenure in elected office, she went on to serve as a Senior Fellow at the Texas Public Policy Foundation and further advocated for reducing taxes, improving education, and protecting life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Additionally, as the Director of Strategic Partnerships for Army Futures Command*, she helped to advise our military leaders tasked with modernizing our battle methods while helping to grow the central Texas economy.
