Angelia Williams Graves has been elected to the Norfolk City Council since November 2, 2010 and represents the residents of Superward 7. She served as the city's Vice Mayor from 2013-2016. As a member of council she currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Mayor's Advisory Committee for the St. Paul's Quadrant revitalization project and as the Co-Chair of the 2020 Census Complete Count Committee. Councilwoman Graves is a city representative for the National League of Cities and is the 2nd Vice-President of the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials (NBC-LEO).
Angelia was born and raised in Norfolk, attended St. Mary's Academy and is a graduate of Booker T. Washington HS. She graduated from Tidewater Community College and from Old Dominion University with degrees in Business Administration and Marketing. She also graduated from the University of Virginia's Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership, and the Alpha School of Real Estate. Angelia is the Principal Broker and Owner of Homes by Angelia Realty Company.
Angelia is a member of Grove Baptist Church, where she serves as a Trio Leader on the Altar Ministry, and is a member of the Norfolk Democratic Committee. She is married to Tommy Graves, owner of Graves Funeral Home and has two bonus sons. Her mission in life is- "To love, lead and inspire with integrity and authenticity, to the glory of God!" |
