Bio

STOCKBRIDGE - Former Village of Stockbridge Trustee and current Chairman of the Republican Party of Calumet County, Ty Bodden, officially announces his candidacy for the 59th Assembly District. Ty Bodden placed second to Rep. Tim Ramthun in the 2018 fall primary election. Ty's priorities are securing our elections, eliminating election fraud, funding and advocating for law enforcement, addressing the labor shortage, helping businesses with the current economic burdens, passing a pro-life heartbeat bill, defending our 2nd amendment rights, furthering the elimination of the governor's emergency declaration powers, expanding and supporting universal school choice, advocating for our farmers and banning the 1619 project, Critical Race Theory and any equity based curiculum from our schools. In the last three years, Ty has worked for the Department of Corrections, serving at both Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution and Taycheedah Correctional Institution. Prior to that, Ty was the Farm Manager of Cristo Rey Ranch in Mount Calvary, working with the Sister Servants of Christ the King at Villa Loretto Nursing Home. Ty currently serves as the Nonprofit Board Chairman of Cristo Rey Ranch, which is an organization that specializes in animal therapy for the elderly and for children & young adults with intellectual disabilities. He has served on the Stockbridge Village Board the last few years and decided not to seek re-election this past spring, term limiting himself to two terms because he believes that elected officials should not hold their positions for an extended period of time. Ty also sits on the Stockbridge Sewer and Water Utility Commissions. Ty is an advocate for small businesses and has planned events to benefit community businesses during Covid. During his time as Village Trustee, Ty led the charge to successfully pass an ordinance to allow ATVs on village streets to help boost the local economy and the local bars and restaurants. Ty pursued this ordinance at the request of his constituents and the community's many ice fishermen. He helped revive and grew the Republican Party of Calumet County membership by over 800% and has helped Calumet become one the of strongest Republican county parties in the state. This spring, Ty oversaw and managed campaigns for Calumet County School Boards and County Board, winning 80% of those races. In fall of 2020, Ty personally delivered over 400 Trump signs around Calumet County and eastern Fond du Lac County, as well as hundreds of more signs for other conservative candidates. Ty graduated from Stockbridge High School in 2012 and has been with his wife and high school sweetheart for nearly 13 years. They have now had two children with another on the way. Ty is an avid outdoorsman and spends as much time as possible in the woods. Ty has lived in the district most of his life. He has resided in St. Cloud, Kewaskum, and Stockbridge.
