Marc Levine was first elected in 2012 to represent California's 10th Assembly District, serving the vibrant communities of Marin and Sonoma counties. In his near decade of service, Levine has successfully authored over 80 laws leading state and national efforts to prevent gun violence, increase access to mental health services and promote responsible and compassionate immigration policies. Levine is currently Chair of the Assembly Select Committee on International and Regional Agreements and serves on the Agriculture, Higher Education, Revenue & Taxation, Rules and Water, Parks & Wildlife committees. In this capacity, Levine is among California's most influential legislative leaders with a track record of protecting the state's fragile environment, expanding access to education, combating food insecurity by enhancing access to California's rich agricultural bounty and supporting economic development and job creation throughout the Golden State. During his tenure in the Assembly, Levine has authored notable legislation and has been a respected voice on various public policy issues including- addressing the state's fiscal crisis, preventing gun violence, expanding access to healthcare, increasing investments in public education, fighting the climate crisis, energy regulation, insurance reform, investing in road, highway, bridge and transit infrastructure, criminal justice reform and developing a sustainable statewide water plan that supports farms, families, businesses and the environment. Levine began his career of public service in 2009 when he was elected to the San Rafael City Council where he focused on smart growth, environmental protection, expanding access to parks and economic development. Levine earned a BA in Political Science at California State University, Northridge and a Master's Degree in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School. Levine lives in Marin County with his wife Wendy and their two children.
