Bio

Married to Janice for over 40 years with nine children scattered across the country and overseas who so far have blessed us with fifteen grandchildren. Our children include; a Physician, a Veterinarian, two sons, a daughter, and a son-in-law on active duty in the Navy, Air Force, Army and Marine Corps with multiple combat tours in the Sandbox between them, a local businessman and author, and more working in the local area. We have resided in Colorado Springs on either active duty, as a defense contractor, or working for you on City Council for all but one year since 1991. Academic - Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphasis on Transportation and Public Utilities (University of Arizona) - Master of Arts in International Relations (Salve Regina University) - Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies (Naval War College, College of Naval Command and Staff) MILITARY SERVICE I am a retired Naval Flight Officer with almost 2,000 hours in the E-2 Hawkeye, carrier based Early Warning Aircraft and over 500 hours in the E-4B National Emergency Airborne Command Post (now called the National Airborne Operations Center). I am also a commercial, instrument rated, multi-engine pilot and have a multi-engine instructor rating. I am not currently active in aviation and have flown a desk for years. I completed 21 years active duty before retiring from the Navy as a Commander (O-5). We lived in various places across the world including; San Diego, CA; Yokosuka, Japan; Newport, RI; Omaha, NE; Gaeta, Italy; and finally Colorado Springs on my final assignment in Cheyenne Mountain including operations in support of Desert Storm. We lived overseas for almost five years and I spent a total of seven years at sea. Here in the local area I've worked as a defense contractor for over 16 years on various tasks supporting Air Force Space Command, US Space Command, US Strategic Command, US Northern Command and mostly NORAD. As a defense contractor, I am currently between tasks and now "semi-retired" and now running for City Council to put this experience to work for the citizens of Colorado Springs. Since returning to Colorado Springs in 1995, I've been active in local politics and have served as a precinct leader for fourteen years and as a division leader for the last six years. I am also one of the founding members of the Coalition for a Conservative Majority - Colorado Springs, which brought together conservatives from many groups to bring more conservatives into party politics. CCM was so successful that we were TARGETED BY THE IRS! I have held leadership roles in service organizations for over a decade supporting veterans, children with special needs, charitable organizations, our Parish and the Diocese of Colorado Springs
