Bio

A former Army Ranger and lawyer, Jason Crow represents Colorado's Sixth Congressional District in central Colorado including Aurora, much of the eastern Denver metropolitan area as well as portions of Centennial, Littleton, Brighton, and Highlands Ranch. The son of small business owners, Jason worked his way through college by joining the National Guard and working construction jobs. It was during his National Guard training that he first felt the call to serve and joined ROTC, ultimately graduating at the top of his class as the Distinguished Military Graduate. Jason was commissioned as an Army officer upon which he served in the 82nd Airborne Division. During the invasion of Iraq, Jason led a platoon of paratroopers where he earned a Bronze Star for his combat actions. Following his tour in Iraq, Jason joined the U.S. Army's 75th Ranger Regiment and served two more tours in Afghanistan, eventually achieving the rank of Captain. Following his service, Jason attended law school at University of Denver and then worked for Holland & Hart law firm. An outspoken advocate for veterans' rights, Jason helped lead the charge to replace the overcrowded, 60-year-old VA hospital in Denver and bring it to Aurora. In 2012, he spoke at the Democratic National Convention supporting President Obama's repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." Jason's priorities in Congress include addressing gun violence, protecting DREAMers and passing immigration reform, and advocating for our country's veterans and military men and women overseas. A proven reformer, Jason is dedicated to strengthening our democracy and fighting the influence of money in politics through ethics and campaign finance reform. Jason lives in Aurora, Colorado with his wife Deserai and two young children, Anderson and Josephine.
