Bio

Former Florida State Representative Bruce Antone served twelve years (six terms) in the Florida Legislature. During his time in the legislature, he was elected by his colleagues to serve as the Chairman of the twenty-nine member Florida Legislative Black Caucus. He was a member of the following House of Representatives committees- - Education Committee (Democratic Ranking Member) - Government Operations and Technology Appropriations Subcommittee - Civil Justice Committee - Local, Federal, and Veterans Affairs Committee - Select Committee on the Integrity of Public Research Institutions I understand government and legislating. I understand the process of passing laws, policies and procedures, and putting together multi-billion-dollar budgets. I work well with people, and I understand the importance of building working relationships with colleagues and decision makers. As a State Legislator, I've learned how to work with my colleagues to create multi-billion budgets that address the needs of the State of Florida (K-20 Education, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Technology, Transportation, etc.). Representative Antone received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the historic Tuskegee Institute (now Tuskegee University). He completed thirty hours of master's Level Electrical Engineering Courses at Tuskegee Institute, Graduate Studies in Public Administration at the University of Central Florida, and he is a Graduate of IBM's Systems Engineering and Marketing School in Irving, Texas. Representative Antone's professional career consists of a number of professional employment assignments. He was employed with International Business Machines (IBM) as an Account Systems Engineer, a Regional Application Development Specialist and a Marketing Representative. He worked as the Chief Legislative Aide to Florida State Senator Buddy Dyer for eight years. He was employed by the Technological Research and Development Authority (TRDA) in Titusville, Florida, where he served as the Director of Education Programs, Director of Energy Programs and Director of Minority and Women-Owned Business Programs. He has worked as the Director of Community Outreach for a social-services non-profit organization, and he was employed as the Business Manager for a large Religious Institution. Lastly, he has served on a number of Government and non-government Advisory Boards, including the Orange County Planning and Zoning Commission, the Orange Blossom Trail Development Board, etc.
