Bio

Ashley V. Gantt, Esq. is the founder and managing partner of Gantt Legacy Law, P.A. In 2007 Ashley graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and became a Teach for America Mississippi Delta Corps (TFA) member. She dedicated two years to national community service, with a mission to close the achievement gap in the Greater Delta region. Ashley returned home to teach in Miami-Dade County Public Schools for seven years before beginning law school. In 2016, Ashley graduated from NSU Shepard Broad College of Law. While in law school, Ms. Gantt served as chapter Secretary and President of the Black Law Students Association. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the University of Florida Association of Black Alumni South Florida chapter. Upon her admission to the Florida Bar, Ashley became a Broward County Assistant Public Defender, serving the citizens of Broward County for over two years. She received recognition for her work, earning two consecutive "Hat Trick" Awards from the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys for attaining not guilty verdicts in at least three successive trials. In 2021, Ashley pivoted from working at a large firm to opening her law firm, Gantt Legacy Law, P.A. She specializes in Criminal Defense, Estate Planning and Probate, and Personal Injury. Various life experiences influenced her areas of specialization and continue to fuel her ambition and drive as a practitioner. Ms. Gantt continues to be active in her community, serving on the executive board of the T.J. Reddick Bar Association as corresponding secretary, recording secretary, President-Elect and President in the 2020-2021 fiscal year. Ashley is a board member for the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association and a Florida Bar Wm. Reece Smith Jr. Leadership Academy Fellow. Ms. Gantt also served as the District 2 Trust member on the Citizens' Independent Transportation Trust in Miami-Dade County. Lastly, Ms. Gantt is an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University College of Law.
