uan Carlos Porras is a principled conservative and lifelong Republican running for State Representative, District 119. As a lifelong resident of District 119 and a small business owner, Juan Carlos believes that freedom and liberty are essential to our prosperity.
Juan Carlos was first elected to the local Republican Executive Committee at age 18. During his four-year tenure as a Republican Executive Committeeman, he worked with conservative activists and elected officials to enhance the local Republican Party and ensure qualified Republican candidates were elected to office.
While serving as a Republican Executive Committeeman, he went on to work for Senator Rick Scott as a Constituent Service Representative, where he assisted constituents with local, state, and federal issues. He then served the constituents in his own district as the District Aide for Republican State Representative Juan Fernandez-Barquin after working diligently to help him get elected in 2018. Juan's work ethic led him to Tallahassee, where he worked for Republican State Representatives Alex Rizo and Spencer Roach as their Legislative Aide. During his time in Tallahassee, Juan focused on policy pertaining to educational choice, individual freedom, and lowering taxes for the elder community.
As the son of Cuban exiles, he thanks his parents for their sacrifice, which allowed him to become the first member of his family to attend college. Juan graduated from Florida International University (FIU), where he served as the President of the FIU College Republicans - one of the state's largest and most successful groups of young conservatives. He played a pivotal role in electing local, state, and federal conservative candidates by spearheading effective grassroots operations. |
