| Larry was born and raised in central Iowa, so Iowa values are instilled in me. Larry and his wife, Luisita chose to establish themselves in Urbandale because it felt like a small, welcoming community with big city amenities - and they were right. They have been welcomed in with open arms and caring hearts ever since.
Larry served 11 years in the Iowa Air National Guard as a Weapons Armament Technician and deployed overseas for 3 tours in support of our great nation during which he obtained the Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and many others. Afterward, Larry successfully assisted in transitioning the 132d Fighter Wing from an F-16 mission to the support mission focused on intelligence and remotely piloted aircraft they continue to execute today.
Luisita and Larry both enjoy being active in the community where we volunteer with organizations such as UCAN, Meals from the Heartland, Filipino American Society, and many more. The Urbandale 4th of July Committee nominated Larry to fulfill the role of Vice President in 2019 which is a role he continues to support today. Larry was appointed to the Urbandale Civil Rights Commission in 2019 where he served a 2-year term. In 2021, Larry was elected to serve on the Urbandale City Council where he continues to serve today. |
