Bio

Lohse is the owner of Brick Street Market and Brick House Fitness in Bondurant and has served on the City Council for the last 10 years. He is on a number of local boards including Bondurant Development, Inc. and East Polk Innovation Collaborative, having previously led both organizations as president. Lohse and his wife, Mary, have been residents of Bondurant for the past 18 years. Together, they have three children- Drake, Nicolas, and Grace. Lohse says that a desire to serve his friends and neighbors and solve problems is what drives him to run for Statehouse- "Public service has always been a part of who I am. After spending the past several years giving back and investing in the Bondurant community, I want to make our entire state an even better place to live, work, and raise a family." As small business owner and local community leader, Lohse says he will work across the aisle in Des Moines to bring positive results back to East Polk County. "I want to make sure that Iowa's future continues to remain bright" said Lohse. "I will work to ensure our communities have great schools and families have access to high quality, affordable health care, including mental health care. I'll also focus my efforts on investing in our workforce to ensure Iowans are properly trained and businesses have the employees for the high-paying careers of tomorrow." The Lohse's have been very active in their community the last several years. Brian has been an active member of Bondurant Federated Church, serving in the past as board moderator, a game leader in the youth Awana program, on the men's mission team travelling to communities in Haiti and on the sound team. He has also helped coach youth sports and served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader.
