Committee Assignments

State Representative Chris Bos was elected to represent the 51st District in the Illinois House of Representatives in November 2020, and sworn-in on January 13, 2021. Prior to joining the Illinois General Assembly, Chris served as a Trustee on the Ela Township Board. Chris' life has been one dedicated to community service through a career with non-profits and volunteering in his community. He volunteers with the PTO in Lake Zurich, serves as a precinct committee member, has served as a youth soccer coach and is actively involved with the food pantries in the community. When shutdowns related to COVID-19 first began, record numbers of families sought assistance at food pantries. Chris helped lead the organization of a "touchless" pick up and drop off program that enabled area residents to leave donated items on their porch for pick up so they could be delivered to area food pantries. After the fire at "the barn" in Lake Zurich, the preschool that was housed in this staple of the community lost everything. Chris and his wife organized a community-wide supplies and toy drive to restock the teachers and make sure the kids had what they needed before they moved into their temporary space. In addition to being a State Representative, Chris is the Director of Development for Reclaim13, a non-profit that works to free children from sexual exploitation by focusing on prevention programs for adolescents and adults, and healing programs for children and young adult victims of human trafficking. Chris studied at Northcentral University and the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Chris and his wife have been married for twenty years and reside in Lake Zurich. They have three children - teenage boy/girl twins, and a daughter who recently began elementary school. Like their parents, the Bos children are active in the community. Chris and his family are active members of the Hope Collective (formerly Alpine Chapel), where he previously served as the children's and family pastor.
