Prior to serving as a state representative, Sullivan gained experience in the private sector at General Motors Corp. and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana. Sullivan also owned and operated her own consulting firm, Onward Consulting LLC, to provide services for the University of Southern Indiana Center for Applied Research. Community involvement and leadership development are important to Sullivan. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Governors for the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service series, Secretary for the Indiana State Party Central Committee and Co-Chair of the CSG Committee for Smart Government. She also served as a member of the Alcoa Community Advisory Board, Young Life Evansville and the Minority Women's Business Enterprise. She is also a graduate of the Richard G. Lugar series and Women's Campaign School Yale University. Sullivan is an alumna of the Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development, as well as the current Vice-Chairman of The Council of State Governments BiLLD Steering Committee, and a member of Family Bible Church. In 2016, she was elected to serve as president of POWER, the Indiana House women's caucus and continues to serve in this role. She hopes to empower Hoosier women to work together and succeed in life and in the workforce. POWER also awards scholarships to nontraditional female college students, like working mothers. Sullivan has authored numerous laws since joining the House of Representatives. In 2017, she co-authored and voted for the largest road funding plan in the state's history. The 20-year plan improves Indiana's vital infrastructure to ensure Indiana continues to be the Crossroads of America. She also co-authored House Enrolled Act 1004, which expands the state's pre-K pilot program. She has served on the Ways and Means Committee since 2015 and currently chairs the House Roads and Transportation Committee. Sullivan is dedicated to representing House District 78's time-tested Hoosier values of personal responsibility, hard work, family, faith and community and passing those values on to the next generation. She believes in smaller government, less regulation, more freedom, the sanctity of life and more local control. Sullivan lives in Evansville with her husband, Chad, and their three children- Dalton, Savannah and Sawyer.
