Bio

Education- I grew up in the small town of Somers, in the Flathead Valley and graduated from Flathead High School. I obtained my securities licenses in 2002 and have been working in financial services ever since. I have also owned and operated a cattle ranch since 2010, when my husband and I expanded our farm business. Occupation- Financial Professional/Para-Planner at Sullivan Financial Group and Co-Owner and Operator of the family farm, Cedar Creek Land & Livestock. In addition to our cow/calf operation we grow malt barley and alfalfa hay. Relevant Experience- I have lived and worked in Montana my entire life, and I understand the challenges that face those in the business and the agriculture community in our state. As a member of the financial industry I also understand how we can better formulate legislation to remove the roadblocks and red tape that often make running a business difficult. I have been active in Republican politics in Lewis & Clark County for 10 years-helping on both local and statewide campaigns and recruiting candidates. I own and operate a cattle ranch/farm business and also serve as an active member of Montana Stockgrowers Association, Montana CattleWomen, Broadwater CattleWomen, and Montana Farm Bureau Federation. I have always been interested in playing a role in implementing positive changes in our community and hope the people of House District 70 will allow me to work on their behalf in the Montana State Legislature. Why am I running for this office? Agriculture is the lifeblood of Montana's economy and plays a critical role in the livelihoods of the people in House District 70. I feel strongly that the person elected to represent this district should have a background in agriculture-someone who lives, works, and is actively involved in the agriculture industry. I finally decided it was time to step up and serve the people in my community by putting my name on the ballot, and I believe I am the only candidate in the race that will be a tireless advocate for the needs of Montana's farmers and ranchers. What do I hope to accomplish in this office? I will be a staunch advocate for needs of our agriculture industry and small business in Montana. I also believe we need to develop our natural resources by mining, logging, and developing oil & gas while also ensuring that our environment is taken care of for future generations-I don't believe the two are mutually exclusive. This can only happen when we get rid of unnecessary regulations and promoting responsible development. I hope to work on legislation that will support more positive changes within our financial industry and work with the office of the Commissioner of Securities and Insurance to allow Montanans more options for their insurance and investment needs. Additionally, as a gun owner and former NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, I believe we have the right to protect ourselves, our family, and our home and will be a staunch supporter of our 2nd Amendment rights.
