Bio

Erin and her husband Wayne are the proud owners of a small business retail sporting goods store located in District 37. Erin is also the founder and director of a non-profit organization serving community youth in music arts, which has established a much needed youth orchestra in southern Wake County. Erin is the PTA president at Holly Ridge Elementary School where she has served on the board of the PTA for 2.5 years. Erin also serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Adjustment for the Town of Holly Springs. Erin and Wayne settled in Holly Springs after 12 years as a military family. Erin dedicated these years to strengthening military communities and supporting families of deployed soldiers, including serving as the Family Readiness Group Leader for 120 families of the 1st Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment in Savannah, Georgia. Wayne recently retired from 20 years of active-duty service as an Infantry Officer and Army Ranger. The majority of Wayne's 8 deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan took place while the couple was raising their children, Madison and Cole. Prior to military life, Erin spent seven years as a government affairs professional in Washington, D.C. She worked to improve the regulatory decision-making process in government by advocating for the use of transparency, sound science, and cost-benefit analysis in federal rule making. Erin grew up in Herndon, Virginia and graduated with a M.A. in International Commerce and Policy and a B.A. in Government International Politics from George Mason University. A violinist and violin teacher to both children and adults, Erin is passionate about the arts in schools. Erin has 2 sisters, one of whom is a special needs adult and the other a registered nurse. Born with hydrocephalus, Lisa is a survivor of lifelong, life threatening health complications. Because of Lisa's story, Erin supports free-market driven solutions that foster competition in healthcare to help reduce costs - not Medicaid expansion.
