| GRAND FORKS - Jonathan Sickler, a Grand Forks lawyer and businessman, will seek the Republican endorsement to run for the North Dakota State Senate from District 17.
Sickler works as chief legal officer at AE2S, an engineering consulting firm. Before that, he practiced law in Washington, D.C. He also has served on Gov. Doug Burgum's Task Force for Higher Education Governance as well the Initiated and Referred Measures Study Commission created by the North Dakota Legislature.
"North Dakota is a special place, with a unique mix of common sense, neighborliness, and civility" Sickler said in his announcement. "We need thoughtful leaders to build on those qualities that make Grand Forks and North Dakota a great place to live. As a lifelong Republican, I would be grateful for an opportunity to carry on that work in the Senate."
Sickler said he wants to focus on policies that support families, diversify the economy and enhance education. |
