| DeAnne DeFuccio was sworn in as assemblywoman in April 2021. She filled the vacancy created when Holly Schepisi moved to the state Senate.
A lifelong resident of Bergen County, she was born in Oakland and grew up in Franklin Lakes. Her grandfather, William F. Kelly, represented Hudson County in the state Senate for 16 years.
She earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 1995 from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. While earning her degree, she completed an internship in 1993 in Washington working for Republican U.S. Rep. Marge Roukema, who represented northern New Jersey in Congress for 22 years. She went on to get her law degree in 1998 from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, and was admitted to the New Jersey bar.
She specializes in family law at her own practice in Hackensack and Wyckoff.
Previously, she was an Upper Saddle River councilwoman from 2020 to 2021, and served on the planning board from 2019 to 2021.
DeFuccio resides in Upper Saddle River with her husband and two children. |
