Bio

Ken Gray is a lifelong conservative with a passion for serving his country, state and community. He is a husband and father, first and foremost, and has always invested his time and resources into ensuring a better future for all of us and generations to come. Ken has dedicated his life to fighting for the American way of life. Through his 26 years of service to our country in the United States Air Force, Ken achieved the highest enlisted rank attainable, Chief Master Sergeant. Upon his retirement from the military, Ken understood firsthand the challenges many of our veterans face, and he fully devoted himself to helping those who served our country get the support they need on a daily basis. Ken also has a passion for serving the people of Nevada, and he has a proven record as a tireless advocate for conservative values. During his tenure as a Lyon County Commissioner, Ken has fought for America First ideals, keeping taxes low, protecting our Constitutional and Second Amendment rights, and standing up and supporting law enforcement. Ken is a life member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Nevada Firearms Coalition. Since becoming a Lyon County Commissioner, Ken has also served as a Director on the Carson Water Sub-conservancy District, Commissioner on the Comstock Historic District Commission, Director on the Dayton Valley Conservation District, member of the Intergovernmental Executive Committee, and has recently been appointed to the Nevada Local Justice Reinvestment Coordinating Council. Additionally, he served as the Lyon County representative to the Nevada Association of Counties on the Public Lands and Natural Resources Committee, as well as the NACO Legislative Committee. Working for his country, state and community is a lifestyle for Ken; he doesn't believe his place is sitting on the sidelines. Ken has been actively involved in his community since he first moved to Dayton, including serving on several state, local and nonprofit committees including the Lyon County and Nevada Republican Central Committees, the Nevada Judicial Ethics and Elections Practices Committee, a board member of Project Walkabout for at-risk youth, the President of Project Compassion, and a council member of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States. Ken and his family also support the Northern Nevada Humane Society, the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program and Relay for Life. Ken also volunteered to be one of the first uniformed responders on the ground in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, not out of duty, but because he felt the call to help the people of New Orleans in their time of crisis. Ken and Kati, his wife of 26 years, live in Dayton, Nevada. They have two daughters, Katelyn who just finished 4 years in the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer Second Class and is currently attending college in Texas. Hannah is a medic in the Nevada Army National Guard and is concurrently a third year cadet in the University of Nevada ROTC program. Ken will always call Nevada his home and is committed to continuing his service in a way that will help better Nevada as a whole.
