Bio

Bob Freeman is the current State Representative for House District 56. In his two years as a representative he has sponsored and cosponsored over 60 successful bills in the Tennessee legislature. Born and raised in the 56th House District, he started elementary school in the 56th and grew up playing YMCA football at the end of Belle Meade Boulevard under legendary coach Paul Clement. He later received his master's degree at Lipscomb University and with wife Rachel started their family in the 56th House District. Bob currently serves as Vice President at Freeman Webb. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, with a degree in Construction Management and Land Development, Bob went on to earn a master's in Sustainability from Lipscomb University's Institute for Sustainable Practice. Rachel and Bob are active working parents. Rachel serves as President of the Sexual Assault Center, which provides healing support and advocacy for children, adults and families affected by sexual assault. An active member of the community, Bob has served on the boards of the Tennessee Environmental Council, Tennessee Wildlife Federation, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, Metro Sustainability Advisory Council and the U.S. Green Building Council's Tennessee Market Leadership Advisory Board. In 2017, he was appointed to the Nashville Homelessness Commission, which brings together advocates, business leaders, government agencies and the public to collaborate on solutions for homelessness in Nashville.
