Bio

Matt was born in Tyler, TX, and grew up in San Antonio. He is a constitutional attorney, college professor of American history and government, and public speaker on America's Founding Fathers. He also works in business development for Vista Bank. Matt is in the midst of his fourth term in the Texas state legislature. He represents District 93 in Tarrant County and his district includes parts of Fort Worth and Arlington. Matt was appointed by Speaker of the Texas House, Dennis Bonnen, to serve on four House Committees- Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence, Transportation, General Investigating, and Redistricting. Matt was also named Chairman of the Subcommittee on Interim Hearings for the House Redistricting Committee. He is also proud to be the Chairman of the Texas Legislative Tourism Caucus - a bi-cameral, bi-partisan caucus that seeks to advocate and promote the tourism industry here in the Lone Star State. Matt and his wife, Jennie, reside in the Fort Worth area with their five children- Jeremiah, Hannah Sue, James, Gracie, and Ruthie.
