| MEET JESSIE
DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Jessie was born in El Salvador and moved to the United States with her family in 1984 in the midst of a civil war. Coming to America provided many opportunities for Jessie and her family. Hard work and dedication to education was the key to capitalizing on those opportunities.
Jessie graduated from Hamilton High after three years, and enrolled at Marquette University on an academic scholarship. She received a B.A. from Marquette in Spanish and Communications Studies, which she put to use as an outreach coordinator for Hispanics for School Choice - a nonprofit organization that helps low-income parents find schools for their children.
Since 2013, Jessie has served Oak Creek, South Milwaukee, and parts of Franklin in the Wisconsin State Assembly. She has supported record investments in education, pro-job reforms, and helped lower taxes on hard-working families by voting for $3.4 billion in tax cuts this past session.
Jessie served in Assembly leadership as the caucus secretary for six years, and now she sits on the Joint Committee on Finance, which crafts the state's biennial budget.
