Bio

Lori's life and work experience make her uniquely qualified to serve in the state legislature. These experiences formed her values which include standing up and making government work for the People. Lori's working-class roots allow her to empathize with the needs and frustrations of the people of the 54th District. She's a working mom (International Medical Courier), a grandmother with grit, and a mayor known for getting things done. Lori has served two terms as Common Councilmember, and is in her second term as Mayor for the City of Oshkosh. She has been a responsive, reliable, results-focused public servant since 2016, with a solid record of accomplishments for the people. IMG_9089 Her educational background has helped her advocate for people-centered public policy. She has a Bachelor's Degree from University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh in Urban and Regional Studies, as well as a Master's Degree in Urban Planning. She currently serves as Commissioner for the East Central Regional Planning Commission, Chair of the Oshkosh Redevelopment Authority, Council liaison for Parks Advisory Board and the Bike and Pedestrian Committee, She has served on various boards and commissions in the community and northeast Wisconsin. Lori was a Co-founder of the Middle Village Neighborhood Association and played a leadership role in creating other neighborhood associations since 2011. Lori has been a resident of Oshkosh since 2008, and is married to Dr. Tony Palmeri, She has two adult children, two grandchildren, and two cats. Lori's Accomplishments Championed Creation of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Committee Recruited and appointed a wide variety of citizens to our 23 boards and commissions Helped generate support for Sawdust District improvements as chair of the Redevelopment Authority Facilitated civil, productive City Council meetings with a focus on transparency and citizen input Responsive advocate for citizens for equitable allocation of public resources Worked with city manager and other city officials to develop and communicate the city's COVID mitigation response Collaborated with community partners to help generate support for city/school district funding for free bus service for K-12 students Advocated for funding to support homelessness initiatives and mental health support programs.
