Bio

Greta Neubauer, a social movement organizer and fifth generation resident of Racine, Wisconsin, is running for reelction for the 66th District in the Wisconsin Assembly. "Since 2018, I have had the honor of serving as Racine's Representative in the Assembly. I am running for reelection because we still have work to do in making Wisconsin a better place for all of us. Over the last two years, I have fought for your priorities in Madison. I led a statewide push to increase access to affordable healthcare and supported programs to reduce racial disparities in our health system. I fought to increase education funding and authored bills to create more jobs that can support Wisconsin's families. I've advocated for necessary criminal justice reforms and authored legislation to invest in our democracy. I have been a leading voice in the fight against climate change. It's been a privilege to work with members of the Racine community on policies that reflect our values, but our work isn't done yet. The legacy of Scott Walker and his billionaire backers still lingers in Wisconsin. Legislative Republicans have done everything in their power to prevent real change from coming to our state. We need strong leadership to stand up to the powerful special interests that are working to corrupt our democracy and maintain the status quo. We need leaders who fight for us. I've been proud to stand up for my community in Racine, and with your help, I hope to continue this work next year." Greta Neubauer was born and raised in Racine and has been a dedicated advocate for progressive causes for more than a decade. Before her election to the State Assembly in 2018, Greta worked as a legislative aide to former Representative (now Mayor) Cory Mason. She also co-founded and led the Fossil Fuel Divestment Student Network, a nonprofit supporting students organizing against climate change around the country. Since her election in January 2018, Greta has focused on collaborative, community-driven policymaking, fighting for Racine's values in the State Assembly and supporting progressive candidates who will help us take back our state. You'll often find her rushing to her next community event in pink platform sneakers, listening to a Harry Potter podcast, with kringle in hand.
