The Georgia Department of Transportation has launched a new Web site for teenage drivers and their parents.

Officials describe the site as a one-stop source for information on driving laws, safety tips and travel information.

"Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among American teens," said Georgia DOT Commissioner Vance C. Smith Jr.

The DOT "is dedicated to reducing teen crashes in Georgia and part of that mission involves ensuring that Georgia teens have the information they need to become safe, responsible drivers."

The site, Teen Driving Safety 101, was developed with the help of the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, the Department of Driver Services and Riverdale High School's Technology Team.

The site includes links to other government agencies and sites with information about teen driving laws and general travel information.
