SC House Overrides Governor's Vetoes

On Wednesday night, June 26, the South Carolina House of Representatives finalized action on Governor Haley’s budget vetoes related to Clemson University and Clemson PSA.  The House of Representatives overturned all of the vetoes with potential impact on Clemson University and Clemson PSA.   

Here are the vote tallies: 

State Appropriations Bill (Budget)

Veto 15 ($150,000 - Position associated with Advanced Plant Technology Program)

OVERRIDDEN BY THE HOUSE:   99-22

 

Veto 16 ($150,000 - Position associated with Advanced Plant Technology Program)

OVERRIDDEN BY THE HOUSE:  94-24

 

Veto 17 ($100,000 - Position associated with Advanced Plant Technology Program)

OVERRIDDEN BY THE HOUSE:   98-24

 

Veto 69 ($10,509,883 - Facilities Funding for Public Colleges & Universities; Clemson’s share is approximately $372,000)

OVERRIDDEN BY THE HOUSE:   96-19

 

Capital Reserve Fund Bill

Veto 10 ($3 million – Clemson PSA Advanced Plant Technology Lab)

OVERRIDDEN BY THE HOUSE:   95-18 

The Senate will begin their work on the remaining vetoes at 11:00 am on Thursday morning, June 27.  Vetoes sustained by the House are not sent to the Senate.
