THIS WEEK IN SOUTH CAROLINA
The South Carolina General Assembly canceled the legislative session last week due to inclement weather across the state.

S.93 (GI Bill In-State Tuition) and H.3086 (Military In-State Tuition) are both scheduled to be heard in the Senate Higher Education Subcommittee this week.

BUDGET
The House Ways and Means Committee is scheduled to deliberate the budget this week.

On Wednesday, February 26, President Jim Clements and Dr. George Askew will present Clemson PSA’s legislative and budget priorities at a hearing before the Senate Finance Budget Subcommittee on Natural Resources.

From a state budgeting standpoint, Clemson is considered two separate state agencies: a research university that receives an educational and general (E&G) state appropriation for teaching and student support, and a land-grant Public Services Activities (PSA) division that receives a state appropriation to support agriculture, forestry and natural resource Extension, research and regulatory programs.
