The Georgia Department of Education is seeking public comment on its five-year state plan for Career and Technical Education. The plan is required under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act, which was signed into law in August 2006.  The purpose of the law is to help fully develop the academic, career and technical skills of students in secondary and post-secondary institutions and prepare them for high-skill, high wage and/or high-demand jobs.

A draft version of Georgias Five-Year Plan will be available on the GaDOEs website on Feb. 15, 2008. The plan will be posted at http://www.gadoe.org/ci_cta.aspx?PageReq=cictaperkins.

Public comment can be submitted one of three ways -- in person, in writing or by phone.   In person, individuals may choose to come to the GDOE or to West Georgia ETTC or another ETTC on February 27, 2008, 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon.
