West Georgia RESA Receives High Marks on On-Site Review

West Georgia RESA participated in a RESA Standards On-site Review on November 19-21, 2008. A seven member team comprised of two Georgia Department of Education staff, two school system staff (outside the West GA RESA service area) and three RESA staff (outside the West GA RESA area) visited West Georgia RESA to measure the implementation of the newly created Georgia RESA Standards related to three areas: Analysis and Planning, Professional Learning and Quality Assurance.

Each of the three areas being assessed had elements focused on improving student achievement and these elements were scored on a rubric with categories ranging from “not addressed” to “fully operational.”  Of the fifteen elements that were reviewed and assessed, West GA RESA scored “fully operational” on 10 of the 15 elements and scored “operational” on the remaining 5 elements. These were very impressive scorings and West GA RESA is proud of its review results. The high marks are a credit to the hard work of our excellent and talented staff along with the strong support and cooperation we receive from our Board of Control and our seven member systems. We view the strong scores as an affirmation of our hard work and collaborative culture.
