WHO:       West Georgia RESA Area Science Teachers K-12
WHEN:     January 2nd, 3rd and 4th 2014

WHERE:  Crystal River, Florida

West Georgia RESA is pleased to announce a select professional learning opportunity for our school districts. On January 2nd, 3rd and 4th, we will be traveling to Crystal River, Florida to swim with the manatees. We will be selecting 12 individuals for this experience. Participants will receive 5 PLUs for this trip, the application and follow-up work.

5 PLUs granted once the following is completed:
*Must create a dynamic, integrated unit of study based on your experience
*Unit must integrate science, technology, literacy and math
*Unit must have an integrated technology component that enhances
student learning
* RESA Specialists will assist you in vetting your unit using the Tri-State rubric

Professional Learning Opportunity: Submit the technology proposal described below before the November 15th deadline. Decisions will be made based on innovative means to transform this teacher experience to student learning through the use of technology.

Cost: $350 per person

Cost Includes: 

Travel, Accommodations and Meals
Park Entrance Fee for Homosassa Wildlife Park
A Short Educational Presentation on the Manatee   
A 3 hour Manatee Tour with Equipment
A Rainbow  River Dri!  Tour with Equipment & Park Entrance Fee
Entrance Fee into the Crystal River State Archeological State Park
(A National Historic Landmark -Pre-Columbian, Native American burial and temple mounds) 

Cost Does Not Include: Food to and from Crystal River, Florida OR the payment of a substitute for those two work days.
