Business Manager Appointed

At the December 2008 fall conference the executive board appointed Dr. Vince Richardson as Business Manager of GASPA.  Dr. Tony Wright, President of GASPA, presented the appointment at the Thursday business meeting for a vote of the general membership.  The decision was unanimous to appoint Dr. Richardson. Dr. Richardson is highly qualified to hold this position due to having a wide variety of professional experiences as well as many years of experience in GASPA. Some highlights from his resume are listed below: 

  • Presently Dr. Richardson is Director of Title I and Migrant Education programs serving in a 49% capacity at the Ware County Board of Education in Waycross, GA.

  • Prior to retirement in 2006, Dr. Richardson served as Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Title I and Migrant Ed. programs in the Ware County Schools.

  • Prior to the consolidation of the Waycross City and Ware County Schools, Dr. Richardson served as Director of Staff Development, Personnel and Title I in Waycross City. After a short teaching career, Dr. Richardson opened the first GLRS Center in south Georgia serving both Coastal Plains and Okefennokee RESA areas.

  • Dr. Richardson has served GASPA in various elected and appointed positions including Secretary for two years, Treasurer for four years, Chairman of Time and Place Committee and Co-Chair of New Member Services Committee.

Dr. Richardson needs no introduction to many of our members: he is truly one of us. Vince has been a member of GASPA for 24 years. He knows the internal operations of GASPA and has demonstrated his loyalty to our organization. Dr. Richardson  brings a wealth of experience and commitment to this position. We are proud to welcome him as our first  GASPA Business Manager
