UNC Seeks Anesthesiologists Essays
The University of North Carolina School of Medicine’s Department of Anesthesiology seeks essays written by anesthesiologists for publication by January 1, 2010. This collection of essays will be the first published collection devoted to the personal lives of anesthesiologists. This opportunity will allow those in the profession to express their personal experiences, the rewards of the practice, and the complications that arise in the form of first-person narratives of up to 5,000 words.
UNC explains that doctors may write about topics including ethical dilemmas, balancing work and personal lives, lawsuits, addiction to drugs and alcohol, the death of patients, complications in the operating room, etc. These narratives will allow students and certified anesthesiologists to learn more about the profession from fellow doctors’ personal experiences, according to a UNC Medical School news release.
UNC seeks newly written or previously written articles from all anesthesiologists and hopes that this compilation will be an exciting and fulfilling addition to the current literature. For more information on the submission of essays contact Fred Spielman, MD or Vince Kopp, MD using the information provided below.
