Day 34 at The Capitol
3/7/2014

This day was mighty slow for education legislation.  There were no ed. bills on either chamber's calendar. So, this report will be short and very sweet. We are looking toward next week to see the re-write of SB 167. Many suggestions were submitted and we will see what appears in the re-write. Also, HB 897 is experiencing a slow down on the Senate side. I will be submitting comments on the facilities section and the funding section both are providing an increasing advantage to (local) charter schools this go-around. I would urge you to make your final comments to mike.dudgeon@house.ga.gov on SB 167 and lindsey.tippins@senate.ga.gov on HB897.  This will probably our last shot at making any changes.  Both legislators have asked for comments so don't be shy.

Again, I appreciate your involvement in providing input on SB167 this week.  It surely made an impact.
