Job Announcement: Full Time Math Consultant
Preferred Qualifications
§ Administrative/Leadership Degree at the 6th year or above level
§ Math Certification (Elementary – Middle – High)
§ Minimum of 10 years of successful math teaching experience
§ Experiences working with elementary, middle, and high school level teachers
§ Experiences working with students who struggle in math
§ Experiences leading professional learning sessions
§ Knowledgeable about Common Core Math Standards
§ Knowledgeable about the Georgia Assessment Program and PARCC
§ Knowledgeable about using and integrating technology in a consultative role
§ Proactive in determining and helping to meet the needs of systems/schools
§ Meets/Exceeds requirements established in RESA policies, procedures, state board rules, GA Code, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
§ Conduct professional learning sessions
§ Provide consultative services upon request to systems and/or schools
§ Complete HGRESA required reports (Examples: task acknowledgements, request for out of area travel, mileage, etc.)
§ Assist with other HGRESA coordinated training sessions, upon request
§ Conduct an ongoing math assessment of system and/or school level needs and develop an on-going program (math) improvement plan
§ Attend required HGRESA meetings
§ Attend network meetings with other departments, agencies, organizations, programs that relate to HGRESA areas
§ Stay abreast of best practices by researching, reading, etc.
§ Use data to guide decision-making about workshops, sessions, etc.
§ Network with system and school leaders about math improvement plans
§ Model standards-based math lessons at all grade levels
§ Utilize HGRESA resources professionally
§ Adhere to Educators’ Code of Ethics
§ Adhere to HGRESA’s Rules and Policies as noted in the handbook
§ Have access to vehicle for traveling throughout the 9 county, 10 school district area, plus attending meetings, etc.
§ Conduct math nights for schools, upon request
§ Ability to work flexible hours, when needed
§ Other duties as assigned

§ To be determined after HGRESA Board of Control approval
Salary & Benefits
§ State Scale plus a supplement that adheres to a HGRESA scale based on degree (220 days or number of days left remaining in contract)
