Regional Coordinator Position
The Heart of Georgia YSTC is looking to fill a part-time position to serve the Heart of Georgia region.
This part-time position shall work along with the GYSTC Regional Coordinator at the Heart of Georgia Youth Science & Technology Center at Middle GA State College, Cochran Campus.  This individual shall support the Regional Coordinator, who oversees all operations of the center and delivers professional development in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects for kindergarten - eight-grade teachers in Middle Georgia. In addition, this individual will provide hands-on and inquiry-based activities for students. These activities include in-class field trips, afterschool programs, camps, Saturday science and Family STEM events.  The coordinator will also have responsibility for reporting all programming to the state headquarters of GYSTC.
Minimum Qualifications – 5 years experience in teaching science or math at the elementary or middle school level.  Experience is highly desirable or a demonstrated ability to teach and develop science, technology or mathematics curriculum. Applicant must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. The ability to function virtually independently and to initiate, manage and evaluate a variety of programs and activities is required. Strong administrative skills, experience in financial management, budgeting, grant writing and fundraising preferred. Evening work and travel will be required for the position.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
