7 issues to watch as General Assembly opens

Addressing teacher pay, examining tax reform, a Republican legislature having to work with a new Democratic governor, and the continuing specter of House Bill 2 are among the numerous topics the N.C. General Assembly will likely address in its 2017 session, which opened Wednesday. The Southeastern North Carolina delegation said Wednesday it planned to address several issues during the 2017 long session.
