Hemp acres might triple in Kentucky, attracting more processors

Kentucky Department of Agriculture has approved 209 applications from growers approved to cultivate up to 12,800 acres of industrial hemp for research purposes in 2017, approving more than three times as many hemp acres than last year to be grown in the state. More than 525,000 square feet of greenhouse space is approved for indoor hemp growers in 2017.
