As President Donald Trump on Wednesday moved to build a wall between the United States and Mexico, Republican U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina continued a sustained effort to deal with the 11 million immigrants living in the United States without authorization. Tillis’ approach differs from the one that congressional leaders tried about four years ago, before Tillis was elected. In 2013, the U.S. Senate passed bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform only to see it unravel in the U.S. House. For more of this story, click here.
