A second Democratic legislator picked to join Gov. Roy Cooper's Cabinet has officially resigned from the General Assembly.
The resignation letter of Rep. Susi Hamilton of Wilmington was read on the House floor Thursday. Cooper named Hamilton last week to lead the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
