Lawmakers prepare for first cabinet confirmation hearings under new state law

North Carolina is readying for its first set of Cabinet confirmation hearings, but the governor's office may not cooperate. A new state law says that the Senate will now need to sign off on the governor's Cabinet selections, much like is done on the federal level. Lawmakers have now outlined how they plan to navigate through this confirmation process, while the governor is indicating he may not send his Cabinet members to the hearings.
