 If you've spent any time driving around farm country in this region, you've seen plenty of our hottest new cash crop: solar panels. Just seeing the scale of some of the solar farms says all we need to know about the solar industry. It's big.
In truth, solar is still only about 1 percent of the electricity generated by utilities across the country. But power companies are beefing up their investment in solar because they see the future and it's in solar panels.
