Recent warm weather has kick-started some of Henderson County’s fruit trees, leaving growers hoping for cooler weather and worried about an increased threat of freeze damage going forward. Fruits like peaches and nectarines are starting to bud, Henderson County Extension Director Marvin Owings said, and colder temperatures are needed, especially at night, to hold those buds back.
