As controversy looms over the North American Free Trade Act, new freight numbers show the monetary impact of trade dealings in Canada and Mexico on North Carolina. In total, the U.S. reported about $1.01 trillion in aggregated freight trade with NAFTA nations in 2016, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Nearly $17.3 billion of those dealings last year were between North Carolina and NAFTA countries. For more of this story, click here.
