The official Drought Management Advisory Council broke tradition this week, choosing to release their own Drought Monitor instead of following the US Drought monitor map. The official DMAC map for North Carolina reflects no changes from the previous week’s USDM, while the USDM’s version for this week added Extreme Drought across the southern Mountains and expanded Moderate and Severe drought conditions farther north.
