The Natural American Spirit super-premium cigarette brand has been a source of pride and smoking-hot sales for Reynolds American Inc. in recent years. However, a recent marketing settlement with the Food and Drug Administration that ends Natural American’s “additive-free” claim may cast a shadow over the brand’s ability to resonate with smokers, according to marketing and tobacco industry analysts.
