Sonny Perdue will finally appear before the Senate Agriculture Committee at 10am on Thursday this week. The hearing marks the next step in Perdue’s confirmation process, making him the last cabinet member to have a hearing in front of the Senate. Agriculture is eager to see Perdue confirmed, especially with the White House’s skinny budget last week proposing a 21% cut to USDA. Perdue is expected to be confirmed and has wide support in the agriculture industry. The hearing will be live-streamed here.
