Breaking Bread: Arrival of spring means local produce arrives soon

With spring’s arrival on March 20, I am doing a happy dance. My thoughts at this time of year turn to spring vegetables, gardens and baskets of produce from farmers markets. Then, of course, I have to remind myself that we’re still weeks away from all that fresh food. Despite our balmy February, farmers will maintain consistent planting schedules of mid- to late-May, to avoid the threat of frost.
