As Cotton Incorporated’s senior vice president for global supply chain marketing, Mark Messura is on the front lines of the cotton industry’s battle to reclaim market share against cheaper-priced synthetics. Messura acknowledges cotton has faced some tough times because of the price gap between cotton and synthetic fibers of recent years. He also believes cotton has turned a corner, although researchers and marketers at Cotton Incorporated still have a lot of work to do.
